Bundt Cake #11: Red Velvet
I am a couple of cakes behind schedule, but I am not worried. I have some events coming up that I will be making cakes for, so I am thinking I will get caught up in a hurry. This week's cake, Red Velvet from the Kiss My Bundt cookbook, was part of Easter dinner today. My cake isn't as red as it is supposed to be as I did not have nearly as much red food coloring on hand as I thought. Actually, all I had was a bit of red food coloring gel and a bit of burgundy food coloring gel, so I added both of those, and what I ended up with is really a reddish brown cake. I also added some espresso powder to enhance the chocolate flavor. Oh, and this was the first time using the heart-shaped bundt pan.
