Snapshots: Christmas in Chicago

The boys and I took the train into the city today for our annual Christmas celebration in Chicago. We started off with lunch at the Tree Top Cafe at Macy's where we had a great view of the 45-foot Christmas tree from the eighth floor. Yes, Colin is pouting--because when the waitress gave Nick crayons he wrote "Colin wants Barbies for Christmas" on the paper tablecloth covering. Colin didn't find any humor in that. Then we went to see A Christmas Carol at the Goodman Theater for the second time; we saw the play three years ago and loved it. Great production! Chicago is one of the best cities for theater! After the play we headed over to Christkindlemarket at Daley Plaza for roasted almonds and caramel corn and to see the city's Christmas tree. The best laugh of the day, though, was when Nick's pants fell down when he and Colin were racing to the car once we returned to University Park. I couldn't believe it! Soooo very funny! Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of that.

Happy Holidays!
