Mindful Monday

A new weekly feature here on the blog is Mindful Monday. I like to start a new week by reflecting on what I am grateful for (the best of last week) and set new intentions for the coming week. I usually do this in my Erin Condren planner, but I am away from home at the moment, and I thought the blog would be a good place to do this as well. I am trying to be more consistent with my health and fitness game (and my blog), and Mindful Monday is a great way to put those intentions into writing and remind myself about them from week to week.

Because, let me tell you, even with the best intentions, old patterns are hard to break out of. We need reinforcement in as many ways as we can work it into our lives. I don't want to give a false impression that I am leading a perfect life. I've made my share of mistakes, but I'd like to think of them more as learning experiences. I've made bad decisions, and I have failed at many things. However, one thing that I do know is that a better life for myself has to come from myself, and every day that we wake up, we have the power to start over again.

With that being said...

Today I am grateful for:
+ a very positive professional development in the works
+ week 1 of a virtual Mindful Running Retreat I signed up for to help me with motivation and consistency
+ about 120 cycling miles over the last week including rides to Fruita and Palisade
+ another year around the sun
+ a long weekend visit with my older son (best part of last week by far)

Intentions for this week:
+ run 20 miles
+ check out the Grand Junction yoga community

So Happy Monday, all! Be Grateful & Make Shit Happen!
