Aerogardening
I bumped into the idea of indoor gardening using hydroponic technology recently, which got me on a whole other bandwagon. Imagine that. There are a couple of different systems out there, so I started my usual obsessive investigation of such devices that entailed days of online research and a couple of trips to Bed, Bath, and Beyond before settling on the Aerogarden 3, shown here. I got this one on Amazon for $49 with free shipping.For once in my life, I am starting off conservatively with a new project. I went with the smaller three pod version rather than the six podder to try hydroponic gardening out on a smaller scale. My initial plan was that if I like the three pod version, that I am growing flowers in right now hopefully to us
e on my cakes, then I would buy the larger one for herbs. At this point I think the smaller Aerogarden will be all that I need. I will probably plant my herbs in containers outside as I usually do, or I can always plant herbs in this one in the next cycle. It's too early to tell yet which direction I will go with this; let's just wait and see how this first project turns out. I "planted" my garden on February 27 and now have two pods beginning to sprout. So far so good.
